Alternative Voting Methods Pilot Project
The Utah legislature enacted the Municipal Alternative Voting Methods Pilot Project in 2018, which allows a municipality to adopt instant runoff voting (also known as “ranked choice voting”). The following municipalities have officially joined the pilot project for the 2019 Municipal Election Cycle:
- Payson (Utah County)
- Vineyard (Utah County)
